We had many requests over the years to "Bring back the Direct Drive SS", players really loved the thick bold and sweet sound of the original Custom shop version of our Direct Drive. Ronni and David have painstakingly revived and revved up the B-Custom version of the Direct Drive with 5 highly adjustable internal trim pots so that players can dial in exacting amounts of; note shape, harmonics, bass, midrange, and presence. The internal trim adjustments are provided by the legendary CTS control company, known for their durability and smooth operation. Ronni and Bronson Wagner conceived and executed the new muscle car inspired custom paint theme, using multiple rich layers of ultra durable powder coating, with baked on enamel silk screened graphics, so there is no worries of the so called "boutique" back yard finish that looks good for a week and then flakes off after some light gigging.

The super Sport lives up to its sonic heritage and adds adjustable midrange so you can dial the sound from "flat eq" to "thick mids", the new note shape control, allows you to adjust how much bass goes through the overdrive circuit, now you can get a tight focused sound, or a big round vintage "cough" when you lay into the next power chord or wildly shaking 12th fret g string stab! B-Custom brings about a few “new things”, first we have the new Barber Custom shop brand name “B-Custom”, and this signifies products built within the Barber custom shop by Ronni Santmyer. The B-Custom products are smaller runs or even “one off” highly customized audio devices built to accommodate players demanding requests for nuance after nuance, and detail after detail of highly sought after features, sound and build quality. B-Custom carries on the commitment to deliver stellar audio at very musician friendly prices, with a large dealer network throughout the world, and delivery times that have you playing our devices on stage, in the studio or at home, instead of dreaming endlessly about their eventual arrival.

The Custom Cool is the first true B-Custom product and has some new B-Custom features such as:
EQ switching- This allows you to have two totally different EQ curves, using only one tone control by simply employing a push/pull switch, we call these “SR EQ” and “Snarl EQ”, the first being quite flat response to preserve your guitar’s beautiful tone that you so carefully selected, and the second having a wicked fat midrange of sweet barbed wire with loads of fundamentals, without the silly “hump” sound.

Smooth/Crunchy- Yep, just like peanut butter you can have smooth or crunchy sounds with the Custom Cool. This again uses the push/pull method of switching between the well known Barber style smooth tone or a new dynamic/raunchy no holds barred rude presentation, all this in a sophisticatedly tuned, low gain architecture to please the classic tone connoisseur.

Internal Trims- These are our familiar, easy to use internal controls that players can use to dial the Custom Cool into their own personal gear, they include- Note shape, Bass, midrange and presence.

The Custom Cool project started when Monster Mike Welch came to us in search of an overdrive to help with rental back-line gigs, where he needed a reliable sounding amp style overdrive pedal, to emulate the sound he gets from his cranked smaller amps he uses for club dates. After sending pedals back and forth and lots of discussion, the first proto of the Custom Cool was born, we have added EQ switching and the smooth/crunchy switching since Mike’s early prototype, but the sound we brought together for him is well retained with a few other tweaks added to give ultimate flexibility.Precision matched components-using proprietary specifications to ensure symmetrical and specific asymmetric clipping and reduced intermodulation distortion. New from the Barber Customshop, the Direct Drive Low Gain.

The Direct Drive LG is an “ultimately vintage sounding” version of the Direct Drive, this smooth/sweet version of the Direct Drive was born from a custom order in our custom shop. In Ronni’s customary way he took the challenge to devise a gain scheme that would keep the cool British character of the Direct Drive, while dialing the sound in to just that classic early era of days gone by, where British amps had tube rectification and a sweeter presentation that delivered dynamics and tone; over gain, volume and crunch. Ronni took the custom shop treatment a step further with some nice grey knobs and Green LED to offset the new cool character of this tone connoisseur’s version of the classic Direct Drive.

The long awaited Barber LTD low gain overdrive is now available. The LTD dishes out some of the sweetest clearest overdrive ever heard! The new king of chord clarity will unravel even the most complex of chords, while leaving a beautiful harmonic trail wherever it goes.

· Precision matched components-using proprietary specifications to ensure symmetrical clipping and reduced intermodulation distortion.
· True bypass switching with led indicator- this is achieved by using an extremely high grade switch, in addendum Solid 20 gauge copper hookup wire is used between the jacks and switching to create the most transparent bypass yet. Barber electronics has put as much work into the bypass as the overdrive circuit itself.
· Full size pots- for durability and for easy serviceability if needed.
· Hand made-we make the LTD one at a time and each one is signed and dated by the craftsman.
· Extreme volume knob response circuitry-more shades shades and textures at your fingertips than ever before,just by adjusting your volume knob.
· Cast aluminum enclosure-our incredibly durable enclosure will last decades if not centuries!
· Double sided pc board with plate through holes-This is the way the military does it when they want electronics to work FOREVER! all pedals should be made this way , few are....once again Barber electronics draws the line in the sand!
· Three knob control +2 internal adjustments -The LTD uses a simple three knob control layout to keep things easy on the performer. There are two more trim adjusts inside of the LTD so the most demanding player can match bass and presence to his/her needs.
· Ready for 18 volt operation-The LTD operates from 9 volts to 18 volts, this allows use of higher voltage converters and supplies, for players who want to try higher voltage tweaks.
· Vintage style components- Players have requested the use of carbon comp resistors, metalized polyester and silver mica caps. These components were thought to be only available on the highest priced pedals. Players asked, and we delivered...no problem!
· Center EQ tone control- This Barber tuned vintage style control is meant to sound balanced at the 12 o clock position, from there going up adds treble and cuts bass, turning it down adds bottom and cuts treble. You will find plenty of control from the top of the LTD.

The Story
The LTD was requested over and over again by the legions of low gain overdrive players that have been forced to try to "shoe horn" higher gain drives into service by operating them in the lowest part of their drive range. The LTD has been designed from the ground up for the low gain player. Now players of many styles including Blues, country, jazz, funk and beyond have the realistic mild breakup pedal that requires no excuses.
