 That great, classic Filter'TronTM sound. We all have it in our heads, but until now, it has been difficult to find a pickup that puts that tone in your guitar. Now, with the TV Jones Classic, the vintage twang and growl are once again yours. We produce the TV Classic with our own parts made entirely in the USA. We've recreated the look of the original late 1950's Filter'Tron cover. It has a tighter radius around the top edge, a flatter top, and a height of 3/4", compared to the shorter modern reproduction cover height of 5/8". To improve pickup balance, we make the neck pickup available in a lower 5/8" high cover. But the soul of this pickup is in the magnets we use: We analyzed 1/4" thick late 1950's alnico magnets and reproduced them especially for use in our TV Classic. The pole screws used on our pickups are original 6/32 fillister-head steel screws. The fillister-head screw has a cylinder-shaped head, which provides better string separation than a domed-shaped pole screw. If you desire a pickup with more midrange, we offer the TV Classic Plus. It is wound with a thinner wire, giving you more output and midrange growl. We offer our neck pickups with a standard .380" pole to pole width. Our bridge pickup has a pole to pole width of .406" to aid in centering the pole screws under the guitar strings, which are farther apart near the bridge. The result is optimum string separation and output. All TV Classic and TV Classic Plus models are wax saturated to help eliminate microphonic feedback. Introducing the Power'Tron—the ultimate marriage of twang, fatness, sparkle and warmth.
The Power'Tron was born out of our desire to create a Filter'Tron-sized pickup with a strong midrange presence and high output, while still retaining the famous sparkle and bass-note clarity of our TV Classic.
At the heart of the Power'Tron bridge model are two extra-tall bobbins, allowing for more winds of standard-gauge wire. Single treble notes are reproduced with a full, midrange fatness, while bass notes twang out deep and clear. Overall, the tone is remarkably close to a fifties PAF humbucker, blended with a zing and twang that is all Gretsch®.
Our matched Power'Tron neck model uses standard bobbins (to retain a 5/8" cover height), overwound with standard-gauge wire. The resulting tone is slighty darker and hotter than a TV Classic neck, scooping on an extra helping of thick, buttery goodness.
So, you ask, how is the Power'Tron bridge model different from the TV Classic Plus? Well, the Power'Tron has a tone that is fat and full — the result of tall coils wound with standard wire. The TV Classic Plus is more like a vintage Filter'Tron™ pickup with extra-attitude — this due to more turns of thinner wire on a short bobbin.
The Power'Tron neck model uses standard .380" pole-to-pole spacing, while the Power'Tron bridge features a pole-to-pole spacing of .406" for optimum string separation and output.

 Our TV Jones Super'Tron is a replica of the original classic design. Simply put, it's a TV Classic that uses blades instead of polepieces. The blades provide a larger magnetized surface area, providing greater inductance. The resulting tone retains the Classic's clarity, but with a bold and full broadband punch.
The Super'Tron bridge model has blades milled with a radius for superior string-to-string balance. The Super'Tron neck comes with flat blades to keep the tone clear and warm.

 The TV-HT single coil pickup is designed to fit into a traditional Filter'Tron™ cavity. An improved replica of the vintage HiLo'Tron™ single coil pickup, the TV-HT is designed to produce twangy bass and crisp, high trebles. To make this possible, the TV-HT uses one TV Classic bobbin, but wound with thinner magnet wire. Large #8 slotted set screws are used for the pole screws. The TV-HT fits into standard Filter'Tron cavities, making it easy to install into newer reissues as well as vintage instruments. If two TV-HT pickups are installed in a guitar, the center position is hum cancelling. The bridge pickup has a wide pole spacing for better sensitivity, and a 3/4" tall cover for close adjustment. The neck pickup is 5/8 " tall. Additional Info: TV-HT's are single coil pickups. When both are on at the same time, 60 cycle hum is eliminated. In this mode they are 2 single coil pickups wired in parallel. This is not your typical large Humbucker tone. All we have done is eliminate 60 cycle hum. There is no difference in tone when wired standard. All TV-HT models are available with chrome, nickel, or gold plated covers.

Magna'tron |

 Rockabilly twang for the 21st Century. The TV Jones Magna'Tron blends DeArmond-style twang and single coil spank in a standard Filter'Tron™ footprint. The Magna'Tron's special tone is the result of staggered cylinder magnets, using a blend of alnico grades. With the magnets so close to the strings, note attack is extremely quick. The tone is quite aggressive, with exceptional pop and clarity on single-notes. This is perfectly balanced by the full tone inherent in its dual-coil design, which provides hum-cancelling operation as well. The Magna'Tron bridge model features extra-tall coils overwound with thin magnet wire, which provides a good balance of output and clarity. The matched Magna'Tron neck model uses normal coils and standard wire, resulting in a sweeter tone. All Magna'Tron models are wax saturated to help eliminate microphonic feedback.
